Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to aid in spam detection and moderation.

If you use a Gravatar-linked email address, an anonymized hash of that address may be shared with the Gravatar service to check if you have a profile. Their privacy policy can be found at https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile image may be publicly visible next to your comment.

Media Uploads

If you upload images or files to the website—such as in community forums or course project submissions—you should avoid including embedded metadata (EXIF GPS or similar) that could reveal your location. Other users or visitors may be able to download and extract metadata from uploaded media.

Commenting: If you leave a comment, you may opt in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies for convenience. These cookies persist for one year.

Authentication: Visiting the login page sets a temporary cookie to check browser compatibility. This contains no personal data and is deleted upon closing your browser.

User Sessions: Upon logging in, cookies are set to store login status and screen display preferences. Login cookies last two days; display preferences last one year. Selecting “Remember Me” extends login cookies to two weeks. Logging out removes these cookies.]

Content Editing: Editing or publishing an article sets a cookie with the article’s ID. This cookie contains no personal data and expires after one day.

Newsletter

If you choose to subscribe to our newsletter, we will use your email address to send occasional updates about new courses, features, events, or other content related to Ludus Code. We use Mailchimp to manage our newsletter subscriptions and deliver emails. Your email address may be stored and processed by this provider in accordance with their privacy policy and applicable data protection laws.

Embedded Content from Other Sites

Articles, tutorials, or community posts may include embedded content (e.g. videos, code snippets, articles) from external websites. These third-party embeds behave as if you visited the source website directly and may collect data, use cookies, and track your interaction—especially if you’re logged into that third-party service.
